Hanseatic Bank migrates zeb.control to the AWS Cloud

Hanseatic Bank aims to migrate zeb.control to the cloud to increase flexibility and scalability and reduce the technical complexity of its existing infrastructure. A proof of concept demonstrated that all modules can be operated reliably and stably in the cloud.

Results at a glance

The successfully completed proof of concept confirmed zeb.control's cloud capability and laid the foundation for the further development of a SaaS business model.

Background & Objectives

Hanseatic Bank wanted to migrate zeb.control to the cloud to increase operational flexibility and better leverage scalability. At the same time, the goal was to reduce technical complexity and the effort required to operate and maintain the existing on-premises infrastructure. Another key objective was to maintain the security and quality of the existing architecture.

Objectives

  • Outsourcing zeb.control to the Cloud
  • Greater flexibility through on-demand pricing
  • Improved scalability
  • Reduced technical complexity
  • Less effort required for operation and maintenance
  • Ensuring architectural quality and security

The Solution: Proof of Concept for Cloud Operations

As a first step, zeb conducted a proof of concept. To do this, zeb.control applications from IMAC 2.0 (AAF) were migrated to the AWS cloud to examine runtime behavior and identify potential performance improvements. Following successful validation, the specific implementation details of a Software-as-a-Service model were developed collaboratively.

Key elements

  • Migration of selected zeb.control applications to the AWS cloud
  • Analysis of behavior and runtime potential
  • Validation of the cloud readiness of all modules
  • Presentation of the SaaS service model
  • Development of a bank-specific SaaS operating model

Results: Objective and Impact

Results
  • No showstoppers for cloud usage
  • Reliable and stable operation of all tested modules
  • Day-to-day business can continue as usual
  • Runtime benefits identified
  • Scaling potential demonstrated
Effect
The proof of concept confirms that there is a high probability of achieving the desired goals: greater flexibility, reduced complexity and dependencies, and the maintenance of security and quality.
